Deal: Wenger Vieli advised Tethys Robotics on its EUR 3.5m pre-seed financing round
Wenger Vieli advised Tethys Robotics, a Zurich-based spin-off from ETH Zurich, on all Swiss legal aspects related to its EUR 3.5 million pre-seed financing round. The round was led by Redstone VC with participation from Euregio +, Alpine VC, Zürcher Kantonalbank, the ETH Foundation, Kickfund and Venture Kick.
Tethys Robotics develops compact autonomous underwater drones (their flagship product: Tethys ONE) and sensor-data software to enable high-resolution inspection and assessment in rough and low-visibility marine environments. The company’s mission is to reduce the need for human divers in hazardous subsea operations and to support sustainability and operational efficiency in sectors such as offshore oil & gas, offshore wind, hydroelectric infrastructure, underwater cables and telecommunication, aquaculture, search & rescue and unexploded ordnance recovery.
With the new funding, Tethys Robotics will expand its engineering and data teams, scale production of its systems and accelerate transition from pilot projects to commercial deployment across Europe.
The team was led by Michael Baier (Partner, Corporate/M&A) and included Dominique Mattmann (Senior Associate, Corporate/M&A) and Dario Schönbächler (Associate, Venture Capital/Corporate).
